Cookie Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Mutt Den provides grooming business software and business booking pages. Cookies are small browser files; local storage and session storage also keep information on your device. This notice covers these technologies, not just cookies.
Some storage supports sign-in, security or a feature you request. Optional analytics needs your consent. Browser and provider settings can affect what is present and how long it lasts; not every item below appears on every page.
| Name / provider | Purpose and choice | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| cookie-preferences — Mutt Den local storage | Remembers essential, analytics, marketing and functionality choices, timestamp and notice version. Necessary to remember your choice; not an analytics cookie. | No automatic expiry in code. Until cleared, overwritten or a consent-version change requires a new choice. If storage is blocked, the choice applies only to the current page session. |
| muttden.app-state — Mutt Den cookie | Application-only admin impersonation state. Not a login credential; a verified Clerk session is still required. Not controlled by optional switches. | 24-hour maximum age configured by the application; may be refreshed during use. |
| Clerk cookies, including __session and __client_uat (SDK-managed variants may occur) | Authentication, session state and sign-in security where Clerk is used. Not controlled by optional switches. | Provider-managed expiry, refresh and account session policy; no single lifetime is set by this application. See Clerk’s documentation and the cookies in your browser for the effective expiry. |
| _ga and _ga_<measurement-id> — Google Analytics | Optional analytics identifiers and session/usage measurement. Loaded only if analytics is configured and you opt in. | The app does not set an expiry override. Google’s usual GA4 cookie default is up to 2 years, subject to provider settings, refresh and browser limits; the deployed property settings require confirmation. |
| Stripe cookies, such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid, on payment flows | Payment operation and fraud prevention when Stripe features are used. Not controlled by the analytics switch. | Provider-managed temporary and longer-lived cookies. The application does not set their lifetimes; effective expiry must be checked in the browser on the relevant payment flow and against Stripe’s current policy. |
| saas-sidebar-collapsed, saas-sidebar-width, groomer-sidebar-width; dismissedAnnouncements — Mutt Den local storage | Interface layout and dismissed notices. Currently read/written independently of the functionality switch. | No automatic expiry in these application storage calls; until replaced or browser storage is cleared. |
| Sentry SDK storage (for example sentryReplaySession in session storage when replay is active) | Error/performance diagnostics and sampled replay on errors when configured. Text is masked and media blocked in replay. Currently starts independently of consent switches. | SDK-managed session storage/replay lifecycle; not a fixed application cookie lifetime. Closing the tab normally clears session storage, but does not delete diagnostic records already sent. |
The application does not define the previously described auth_token, csrf_token, theme_preference or location_preference cookies. Provider SDKs may add or change their own storage. We have not verified a complete live inventory across all authenticated and payment flows.
Provider references: Clerk cookies, Google Analytics cookies, Stripe cookies and Sentry replay.
- Essential Only: saves analytics, marketing and functionality as off. Essential storage is not switched off by this choice.
- Accept All Cookies: saves all optional switches as on. Google Analytics can then load if configured.
- Customise / Save Preferences: saves your selected optional choices. Analytics is off before a valid opt-in.
- Manage cookies: the persistent button reopens the controls so you can change or withdraw your choice. Preferences are specific to this browser, not automatically shared with other devices.
Withdrawing analytics consent stops further Google Analytics collection through the application and attempts to remove accessible Google analytics cookies, including _ga variants and legacy _gid, _gat and _gac_ names. Those legacy names are cleaned up if present, not evidence that the current app sets them. Withdrawal does not erase data already received by Google.
The marketing and functionality choices are stored, but there is currently no separate advertising tag wired to the marketing switch, and interface layout/dismissal storage is not gated by the functionality switch. Sentry diagnostics and sampled error replay also run independently of these choices. Do not interpret “Essential Only” as disabling every non-authentication technology. The classification and consent handling of those independent features require review.
Google Analytics usage data can contain online identifiers and is not guaranteed anonymous merely because reports aggregate it. Cookie choices do not control email subscriptions, SMS preferences or AI personalisation.
Your browser can block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking sign-in or payment storage may prevent those features from working. Clearing cookie-preferences makes the application ask again. Local storage has no built-in expiry unless the application or browser removes it.
Under UK privacy rules, optional storage/access generally needs consent unless an applicable exemption applies. Saving a choice alone does not prove that every technology is correctly classified. For rights of access, correction, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and how to contact the relevant groomer about client records, see our Privacy Policy.
